Tangier is the famous one. Asilah is the one you'll keep talking about.

Most visitors to northern Morocco spend their time in Tangier and leave. This tour does Tangier in the morning — Cap Spartel, the Caves, the Kasbah — then drives 45 minutes south along the Atlantic coast to Asilah, a small whitewashed town that most tourists never reach.

Asilah is different. It has Portuguese ramparts from the 15th century, a medina that is genuinely calm, a harbour with working fishing boats, and walls covered in large-scale murals painted and repainted every year during an international arts festival. The medina is unhurried in a way that Tangier's never quite is.

Hassan grew up knowing both cities. He takes you through Tangier at pace, then lets Asilah breathe. Lunch at a harbour restaurant. Free time in the afternoon. Back to Tangier by early evening.

Stop 01

Cap Spartel + Hercules Caves

The northwest tip of Africa, then the sea caves. Classic Tangier coast — done properly before the crowds arrive.

Stop 02

Tangier Kasbah

The 15th-century fortress and sultans' palace. Panoramic views across the strait to Spain. 60 minutes with Hassan.

Stop 03

Asilah — Portuguese Ramparts

The walls built by Portugal in the 15th century still stand around the medina. Hassan walks you along them and explains the Atlantic trade history that shaped this coast.

Stop 04

Asilah — The Medina & Murals

The whitewashed medina streets and the festival murals. Genuinely calm. A few good shops without pressure. One of the most photogenic places in northern Morocco.

Stop 05

Asilah Harbour

The working fishing harbour. Lunch here at a restaurant Hassan personally recommends. Fresh fish, sea views, actual locals eating lunch beside you.

Why is this tour more expensive than the Tangier full day?

Two cities, more driving, and a full afternoon in Asilah instead of more Tangier medina time. The extra $50 buys you a genuinely different second city — not just more of the same.

Is lunch included?

No — you pay the restaurant directly. Hassan will recommend a place he personally knows. Budget $12–18 per person. The harbour restaurants in Asilah are significantly cheaper than tourist restaurants in Tangier.

Can we spend more time in Asilah and skip some of the Tangier stops?

Yes. Tell Aymane when you book if you want to weight the day toward Asilah. Hassan is flexible and will adjust the morning accordingly.

Is this the right tour if we've already done Tangier?

Absolutely — this is the ideal tour for a second day. Skip the Tangier morning stops and go straight to Asilah, or use the morning to revisit one specific part of Tangier before heading south.
