Three hours. Two of the most dramatic coastal sites in Africa.

Cap Spartel is the northwest corner of the African continent — the exact point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea collide. There is a lighthouse here that has stood since 1864. Standing at it, on a clear morning, you can see Spain across the water. It's a 25-minute drive from Tangier city centre and almost no visitor makes it there on their own.

Below Cap Spartel, along the coast, are the Caves of Hercules — a sea grotto carved over millennia by the Atlantic. The cave mouth, when viewed from inside, is shaped exactly like the map of the African continent. Phoenicians used this cave. Romans used it. The myth says Hercules slept here between his twelve labours.

This half-day tour was built for cruise passengers and anyone who has a morning free but not a whole day. Hassan picks you up at the port, handles everything, and has you back in three hours. No stress. No wasted time.

Stop 01

Cap Spartel Lighthouse

The northwest tip of Africa. The lighthouse stands exactly where the Mediterranean ends and the Atlantic begins. Panoramic views of the strait to Gibraltar. Hassan explains the geography and the history of this crossing point.

Stop 02

Achakar Beach

The wild Atlantic beach below Cap Spartel. Camel ride included in this tour price — not extra. Completely optional. Some people ride, some sit on the rocks and watch the waves. Both are fine.

Stop 03

Hercules Caves

The legendary sea grotto. Inside: silence, strange light, the sound of Atlantic water. Hassan tells you the Phoenician, Roman, and mythological history. Outside: a terrace above the Atlantic. Small entrance fee (~$2) paid on site.

Is this suitable for cruise passengers?

Yes — this tour was designed specifically for cruise passengers. Tell Aymane your ship's docking time and departure time when you message him, and he'll schedule around your window. Hassan meets you at the port gate.

Is the camel ride really included?

Yes — unlike the full-day tour, the camel ride is included in the $200 price for this half-day. One camel ride per person in your group, on the beach at Achakar.

What if our ship schedule changes?

Message Aymane immediately on WhatsApp. He'll adjust or reschedule at no cost if the change is outside your control. This flexibility is why we work by WhatsApp rather than automated systems.

Can we add more time or stops?

Yes. If you want to extend into a full-day Tangier tour, Aymane can quote you the difference. Just let him know when you book.
